Traversing the Sephora Universe with Chutatip Isarangul
Same House, Different Rooms
My Sephora journey began on homeground where In 2018, I joined customer relationship management (CRM) team in Sephora Thailand as a manager. After three fulfilling years, I actively sought out a mobility opportunity that would build on my CRM experience and cultural intelligence - with an international twist! I was fortunate to secure what in my mind was the perfect opportunity to move to Sephora Singapore as a CRM and Loyalty Manager.
The CRM Team in Southeast Asia is like one big family. There are regional representatives and CRM counterparts from all countries in the region. This meant that I did not have to start from ground zero when I relocated to Singapore. It's like living in the same house but moving from one room to another! Sephora Singapore’s competitive advantage in innovation and technology makes it the perfect market to explore and experiment new initiatives. So here I am!
It truly is a borderless learning experience at Sephora thanks to the regular sharing of knowledge and best practices across this big family. For example, the Sephora Referral program was first established in Singapore, and subsequently adapted in Thailand. Equally, Thailand started a series of gold member exclusive campaigns that became a regular practice in other countries.
Hitting the Refresh Button
Moving to Singapore, the novelty comes from the new working environment, new colleagues, and unfamiliar cultural settings. Regardless, the core focuses of CRM remain the same - new customer acquisition and loyalty retention. Another core of my job is big data analysis and corporate partnerships.
This mobility feels like a refresh button in my career at Sephora. Sometimes, I feel nervous about my potential to bring a positive impact to my new team and company in Singapore. It is similar to a football player playing away from their home stadium, just like how the different environment would affect one’s performance. Therefore, it is essential to believe in myself and expect to deliver to the best of my capabilities even out of my home stadium.
I constantly remind myself that I will strive to do my best every day. I am not here to be a taker, I am here to be a contributor. I have been so lucky to get such a valuable opportunity to work here and build friendships with talented employees in the Singapore team. I cannot wait to prove how much value we can deliver together as a team. Not only in the Singapore market, but also for the overall Sephora Southeast Asia!
