Love, Diversity, and Makeup with Jacob Aquilina

Driven by Love and Acceptance

Being authentic is what sets us apart as individuals, it’s what has allowed me to express myself through my passion for make-up and fashion every single day. Feeling acceptance every day from all individuals is what drives me to push both myself and others to be the best that they can be, and Sephora offers a platform where one can express themselves freely!

Making a Difference – BOLDLY!

In 2019, I progressed into the stock world of Sephora Australia as an Inventory Controller in which I was able to incorporate my love for Visual Merchandise (VM), Makeup and have all things organised all under one roof. An example of this would be the way that I colour coded an entire stockroom! The Sephora Collection rainbow was my way of introducing myself to a new store team and show my support for the LGBT community. Throughout my time as an Inventory Controller, I have been able to get creative and BOLD. Assisting to organise projects such as the 2019 Christmas Party and designing the Inventory Controller uniforms. I had a blast making a bold and shiny statement using kilos of glitter, fabric and warehouse boxes. This also gave me the ability to teach my store team how to recycle warehouse boxes and turn them into awesome party decorations.

Diversity and Inclusion Elevates us All

Diversity and Inclusion for me is incredibly important throughout all sectors of my life, whether it be at home, at work and in any social environment. It enables me to feel confident, be expressive and gives me the ability to stand out! From day one at Sephora in 2017, I have felt included, loved and accepted - three things that are incredibly important to me in a workplace environment. Inclusivity allows for any individual to feel that they can express themselves freely and allows individual expression in its truest forms. Which can result in beautiful innovation!
